Zillions will be lost next Tuesday.

Not in investments, not in ounces and pounds, not in values.

Productive moments.

Millions, perhaps billions, of Americans and foreigners will be glued to television sets and computers in homes, schools and workplaces as Barach Obama drops the -elect from his title as President of the United States.

The 44th commander-in-chief will put his hand on President Abraham Lincoln’s Bible and take the oath of office at noon (Eastern Standard Time).

That will be an historical moment, every bit as significant as man landing on the moon, demolishing of the Berlin Wall and airing of the last episode of M.A.S.H.

The world won’t have Dubya to kick around any more. And Darth Cheney will have retired to his cave in the private sector.

Reason, intelligence, statesmanship and compassion will have returned to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. (18 JANUARY 2009)
