”When pigs fly” and “in a pig’s eye” are more forceful than the current swine-flu outbreak.

To date, the H1N1 influenza virus has killed only 10 persons in 331 cases involving 11 countries.

Bear in mind that an average of 36,000 persons die from influenza-related complications each year in the United States. That works out to about 100 deaths a day.

So far the swine-flu death toll in America is one in 99 cases. That one was a Mexican toddler in Texas.

And speaking of Mexico: That country--the source of so many food-related illnesses in the United States--is home to the pig farm that spawned the current swine flu.

Think of the mega-tons of cheap produce and other foods grown and processed in Mexico for the American market. Then think of the cockroaches and other vermin that traditionally mingle unchecked with humans south of the border.

Mexico’s lack of tidiness is a greater threat to America than all the drug cartels put together. (3 MAY 2009)
