If you believe some of the ancients (and who doesn't?), the end times end on Dec. 21, 2012.

That's when the Mayan calendar stops and a new "world age" starts.

Does that mean the Apocalypse will arrive--brought on by the election of former Gov. Sarah Palin as President of the United States?

Everyone knows that the Mayan civilization, now extinct, thrived long ago in Central America.

Mayans built pyramid-like structures and studied mathematics and astronomy when not engaging in human sacrifice and other means of population control.

But then the Mayans just disappeared.

What caused the exodus, other than the prospect of taxless minimum-wage jobs and free public services in someone else's country?

You have to understand that the pyramid structure has a diminishing area of wall surfaces to display days, weeks and months from bottom to top.

Clearly, the Mayans simply ran out of room for Dec. 22, 2012 and beyond, packed up their old Chevys and journeyed north to tag public surfaces in American burrios. (8 NOVEMBER 2009)
