Sometimes something just bites you on the ass.

Such as the Denair (Calif.) Middle School near Modesto prohibiting a student from attaching an American flag to his bicycle to observe Veterans Day and honor his relatives who served in uniform.

The school district superintendent said the flag removal was ordered after some other students complained.

He said the student complainers might cause a disruption, opening the official door to prohibition of student expression permitted in a 1969 U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

Supt. Numbnuts apparently equated the recent situation to racial tensions stemming from Mexican flags displayed at school on Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican celebration honoring our southern neighbor's achieving independence. It is not an American observance.

Veterans Day is a gringo observance celebrated north of the border, where Modesto is located. (14 NOVEMBER 2010)
