Keith Olbermann, the cantankerous political pundit just bounced from the MSNBC lineup, was true to his earlier profession:

Sports journalism.

Sports writers and commentators never embrace objectivity. They root and jeer in every column inch and sound bite.

They employ every editorial gimmick to effectively demolish or praise the object of their attention.

That's why they make the best feature writers after joining news staffs. And why they become the most effective political pundits in broadcasting.

Olbermann gleefully skewered the pseudo journalists at FAUX News and other "worst persons" in America.

And did so without pretending to be objective, although his rants were based on facts provided by a diligent research staff.

Goodnight and good luck, Keith. (30 JANUARY 2011)
