Forget the billions of dollars and thousands of lives America has spent pursuing Al-Qaeda and its leaders to avenge 9/11.

Americans also paid for the two rounds that drilled Osama bin Laden's torso and head.

And for the super-secret military helicopter that crashed into Osama's backyard in Pakistan.

You'd think Americans had the right to see the corpse of its most-wanted villian.

And pictures of the chopper wreckage, now being dissected by Pakistan for sale to the highest bidder.

America's military competitors soon will have vital clues to building their own stealth choppers or developing technology to combat them.

And Americans will remain in the dark, as usual. They're told Bin Laden is dead, but the ghost chopper still officially doesn't exist.

Par for the course. (8 MAY 2011)
