America's disenfranchised are several important steps closer to successfully challenging corporate rule.

They effectively call themselves the "99%," referring to the overwhelming number of citizens presently screwed by the nation's wealthiest one percent.

What started as an impromptu New York park sit-in to protest financial abuses by Wall Street has spawned "Occupy" squats in hundreds of cities across the United States and abroad.

But the most powerful symbol of the protest movement's significance is its choice of a graphic emblem: the "V for Vendetta" mask worn by a fictional opponent of corruption and social injustice.

Although "V" promoted violence against tyrannical entities, "99%ers" currently advocate only switching accounts from banks to credit unions.

Millions of Americans have responded to that appeal, hitting Wall Street in its most vulnerable spot--the wallet. (13 NOVEMBER 2011).
