There is so much to admire about the modern Republican Party.
Forget Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. They were too principled for today's neoconservatives.
No, today's GOP:
--Under the guise of preventing nonexistent election fraud, has enacted photo-ID laws to suppress minority, student and impoverished voters in several states.
--Supported the Citizen United challenge to laws regulating campaign behaviors, prompting a conservative Supreme Court majority to declare corporations as persons and allow unlimited campaign contributions.
--Spent Inauguration Day 2009 conspiring to obstruct every effort to pass legislation favored by the Obama Administration.
--Approved a national platform opposing abortion in all cases and supporting legislation declaring "personhood" on fetuses--making abortion tantamount to murder.
