It's unlawful to convert a semi-automatic weapon into fully automatic mode.
The conversion allows the shooter to rapidly spray dozens of bullets indiscriminately.
But a mega-round ammunition clip allows a semi-auto assault rifle to be emptied just about as quickly.
Mandating ammo clips with a 10-round maximum would inhibit spree killers using semi-auto pistols and rifles.
The stoppage for reloading would give potential victims the chance to disarm the shooter.
Outlawing mega clips would prevent private, store and gun-show purchases. But making their possession illegal would help even more.
If semi- to full-auto conversion kits are already outlawed, why not outlaw mega clips that accomplish to same deadliness?
