The anniversary marks 14 years of weekly letters from the editor about the human condition since Feb. 15, 1999.
For the record, that’s 728 short essays on issues in cyperspace, education, family, fourth estate, homeland security, language, law, literature, miscellaneous, nuisances, political incorrectness, politics, sports and the war on terrorism.
Harry still possesses his own Internet domain at www.harryhiggens.com, which admirers and the curious around the world frequently access to pay homage. It still averages about 50 “page views” (hits) a day.
He would have liked that—and the fact that the Harry Higgens Foundation Society celebrates two score and seventeen this summer.
The HHFS inner circle wishes a happy 57th anniversary to the intrepid founders who rescued Harry from that dusty used-book store in 1956.
