Rap really isn't music. Rap is inane lyrics set to syncopated noise. Much like its inbred cousin, rock and roll.
Any idiot with a primary rhyming dictionary can produce rap. Just as any idiot with an amplified instrument can produce ear-splitting, unintelligible sounds.
Music is jazz, swing, big band, classical, blues, show tunes, etc. that require skills, practice, discipline, dedication, formal training.
You never hear Mozart's muisic thumping from vehicular subwoofers. And you never hear understandable words and phrases coming from boom boxes.
What's going to happen in coming decades when today's so-called music lovers gather at family reunions to sing their favorite oldies?
Imagine the seniors in rocking chairs banging their canes or using air horns for accompaniment as they sing about motherf-----s and gangstas.
