Here's one more reason to oppose conservative politicians:
Several Republican governors want to defund the arts and humanities in public colleges and universities.
And enhance only academic programs that produce jobs for graduates in technical fields.
In other words, turn academic colleges and universities into vocational schools that teach only tradecraft.
No more English, speech, history, philosophy, teaching, literature, music sociology, marketing, art, law, geography.
Attend private colleges and universities for those courses and majors.
Paradoxically, many countries in Europe and Asia are reforming their higher education with more liberal arts curricula to enhance thinking and creativity.
America may end up with state-trained techno geeks who can't write complete sentences or appreciate fine art and music.
