SCREW A&E AND HORSE IT RODE IN ON

Insanity continues unabated.

The Arts and Entertainment (A&E) cable network has not renewed Longmire--the iconic western drama--after three highly acclaimed seasons.

Longmire, A&E's most-watched original drama series of all time, now is being shopped by its production studio, Warner Horizon.

Starring low-key Australian actor Robert Taylor, Longmire is based on the Craig Johnson mystery novels involving a Wyoming county sheriff confronting 21st Century crime with old-fashioned savvy.

The series, featuring superb writing and casting, draws older audiences than the unsophisticated demographic preferred by most advertizers.

A&E now will rely on mindless Bates Motel and Duck Dynasty to line its coffers.
