IMITATION FLATTERS UNDEAD
It's a man-eat-man world.
You believe AMC Channel's The Walking Dead is the end-all, be-all of serial gore?
Think again.
Enter the first year for Z Nation, the Syfy Channel's gorier contribution to the world of subhuman cannibalism.
Unlike TWD, Z isn't afraid to use the name zombie to describe the co-stars who scoot rather than lurch after prey.
Both series feature a band of intrepids escorting someone who will save the world for vegans.
And both shows sacrifice popular cast members to encourage water-cooler discussions.
Z employs humor and almost non-stop action, while TWD likes to explore inner feelings and use soap-opera dialog.
Between head demolitions, of course. (26 OCTOBER 2014)
