BYE, BYE BAE

It's no surprise that adolescents popularized the No. 1 word earmarked by the Lake Superior State University 40th annual list of Words Banished from the Queen's English.

Bye, bye "bae." No, it's not the misspelled first name of the late lesbian comedic actress. It's an acronym for "before anybody else" in teenspeak.

Bae joins literally, hack (rather than tip), turnt, polar vortex, skill set, swag, foodie and enhanced interrogation--among others-- on the Michigan no-no list.

And while we're talking about language, tell George Foreman, TV pitchman and former heavyweight champion, to stop saying "just call my friends at Invenhep." It's InvenTheLp, George.

Also please inform broadcast commentators, anchors and other pretty faces that an o in numbers is zero and an o in words is oh.

And please put selfie on next year's list (4 JANUARY 2015)
