DIAL UP BILL GATES

Remember forking over big bucks for scads of CDs offering cyber games and programs?

Things of the past.

Today's computers don't accommodate them, instead forcing users to seek recreational and intellectual pursuits in "the Cloud."

No more CDs follows earlier elimination of floppy and hard disks.

Up next for dumping probably is the mouse. Some computers now allow users to shift or select functions by touching or swiping the screen.

The new computer models scare the bejesus out of senior citizens, many of whom barely understand the older operating systems.

To most seniors, a cloud is that thing carrying vapor in the sky--not some ambiguious storage closet for cyber stuff only a grandchild can understand.

Dial up Bill Gates and complain. (15 FEBRUARY 2015)
