TWO MESSAGES TO CAPITOL

Ruskin, Fla. mailman Doug Hughes delivered two messages to Washington, D.C. this week.

The first missive was a package of letters to all 535 members of Congress, complaining about campaign-finance corruption spawned by the Supreme Court's 2010 Citizen United decision "allowing selling out to the highest bidder."

The second--unwritten--message was that "protected air space" above the nation's capitol, White House and other federal buildings has no defense against gyrocopters flying under the radar while loaded with high explosives in the passenger seat.

Hughes, 61, took off at noon in his kit-built copter from Gettsburg (Pa.) Airport and flew 80 minutes at 45 mph covering 82 miles at 300 feet before landing at 1:20 pm. on the capitol's west lawn.

Terrorists need only 20 hours of training before getting certified to fly a suicide mission.

Hughes, meanwhile, is free on his own recognizance. His copter has been impounded. (19 APRIL 2015) --30--
