Well, it wasn't as active
a meeting as last year's, but we did
get to learn about how
things were going at the site, and find out
how much good Shane and
his crew have done in the name of the
House Of Fools. Present
at the meeting were: Kate, Annie, new pledge
Neil, Shane, and new
pledge Lauren (House Of Fools); Quentin, Don,
James, and Tim Petersen
(House Of Alchemy), and a brief visit from Jeff
of House Spartikus. We
discussed new ideas such as Kate's idea of a
guestbook in the encampment
for others to sign so we can keep in touch
after the event, Shane
told us about the site he chose for our encampment
(up the road from wehere
we were last year) and how much work he, Lauren,
Thorn, Tim, Beth, and
Jeremiah have put in cutting down blackberry bushes
(YAY TEAM!) to make room
for our tents. Kate brought up that she would
like to come help the
next time she has 2 days in a row off. Kate talked
about her meal plan and
Shane and Lauren signed up for it and paid their
shares. Lauren mentioned
that she has 30 (!) tiki torches, and Kate
breathed a sigh of relief
that she didn't have to worry about replacing the ones
of hers that caught fire
in 98 and 99 right away. Kate mentioned that she managed
to borrow the tripod
firepit that she borrowed last year (thank you Fir and Deanna!)
Shane mentioned that
Thorn also has several Coleman lanterns, so our camp
should be well-lit this
year! Lauren said that she would work on getting us
some rugs to put in the
encampment. Annie said that she would like to
volunteer for herald
this year, and Shane said he'd be working constab. Kate
also talked to Ted via
phone and he said he would be volunteering for
constab as well. Kate
wants to volunteer for chiurgeon again this year but
needs to renew her first
aid card. That about sums it up...Sara from House of Heresy stopped by to visit with Shane,
and Shane, Kate, Lauren and Sara went out to coffee while Quentin, Tim,
and James talked about roleplaying games. Annie and Neil left to go work on
their cable access show,
and Don went to bed.
