This region is basically rural and is relatively hilly with much undulating terrain with some rivers cutting through it , the most famous being River Kwai , on it's banks sits on the famous or rather infamous Bridge over River Kwai or rather known as the Tha Makam Bridge . This particular bridge is rather unspectacular as you can see if you visit my photo gallery but yet behind it lies a tragic history . Many Prisoners of war during the second world war died while constructing a railway across difficult terrain that links all the way to Burma in the west . However this bridge to me at least is rather exciting to cross because one has to walk on a narrow walkway to cross the bridge and on both sides of the walkway are gaps which are big enough for people to fall through and then there is that large number of tourists keen to cross the bridge . And the bridge is still used by trains used to ferry passengers across it which happened to come by when i was on the bridge .

JEATH War Museum
Anyway nearby the bridge is the JEATH
War Museum which is not air conditioned and rather small . Yet the artifacts
which it holds are historically significant as they pertain to World War 2 . Inside
you will see photographs of the prisoners of war and the appalling conditions
they lived in and witness the cruelty of their captors . The museum structure
is a reproduction of the huts the prisoners lived in .

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Besides this , i also went to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. It's quite interesting to take a boat ride up and down the river and then buying stuff from the boatpeople in the middle of the river . The food's actually pretty good but the hygiene conditions are rather lacking but then nothing bad has happened to me after i ate it so i guess it's ok.

Performance in Rose Garden
Saphram Crocodile Farm and Thai Village
The next day i visited the Saphram Crocodile farm and Thai Village which was rather a non-event save for the cultural performances in the Rose Garden which showcased Thai traditional dances , Thai boxing , etc . However, I feel that i must highlight the fact that in the crocodile farms , the animals were caged in rather small cages which seems rather restrictive and unnatural . This is similar to another Crocodile farm which i went to near Bangkok , the Samutprakarn farm which had a tiger and a dog housed together in a small cage . Shouldn't they give the animals more space ? Alright , to end off on a more positive note , the weather's very good since it's December - cool and dry.
