ANS: Currants.

ANS: She was the first person to receive the Academy Award for portraying a character of the opposite sex.

4. Edgar Rice Burroughs,the creator of Tarzan sold his very first story - 'Under the Moon of Mars' under a pseudonym chosen with a purpose.Mind the P's - Pseudonym and Purpose Please.

ANS: The pseudonym was 'Normal Bean'.He chose it because he thought of himself at that time as "the average mind in search of average readers".

ANS: the word - Lollobrigidan - the person named after - Gina Lollobrigida, Italian movie Star - the reason - more than one.

ANS: 'Playing pool' in England is local slang for going to Blackpool whose claim to world fame is - it has the most number of Roller Coasters (10 in 1994) than any other city in the world. Playing (White) pool is mine( and the Englishman's ) imagination of playing cards.

7. Which is the highest water falls in the Alps ?

ANS: The Reichenbach Falls of the Holmes v/s Moriarty duel fame.

8.On November 22,1968 the first inter-racial kiss happened on US Network Television which sparked off a controversy. On which serial ?

ANS: Its in Star Trek. Lt Uhura(Nichelle Nichols) shared a kiss with Captain Kirk(William Shatner). They were forced to kiss under the control of a 2,700 year-old alien. The episode - 'Plato's Stepchildren'.

9. The celebrated US comedian Bob Hope started off his career as a professional boxer,fighting under the name"Packy East".Soon his nickname was changed by his fans to 'Rembrandt'.Why ?

ANS: He was nicknamed 'Rembrandt' as he spent most of his time facing the canvas. Punny man.

10. Where is the poet Ben Jonson's buried ? And what is strange about that ?

ANS: Ben Jonson's mentor was Charles I.When asked what he wanted by Charles I ,he said 'a square foot of land in Westminster Abbey' and thats what he got.He was buried upright in a standing position in his land.
