E. Carol Gaines developed an interest in charcoal and pastel drawing as
a child.
She began drawing horses and feels it has evolved to her
current interest of early man and his interpretation of the environment
through art and symbolism.

Her recent concentration has been on the study of Paleolithic and Native
American art along with symbolic interpretation.

Her current series of paintings are being inspired by her dreams. Some
paintings come from a simple idea for a subject and others by a dream of
the finished piece.

Gaines has exhibited in various juried art shows and has had several one
woman shows in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.
