Caterpillar in the Tree Butterfly Free -Jan 1999

Caterpillar in the tree
are just like you and me

many colors
many shapes, stuck in the tree with no escape.

Eating leaves
crawling branch to branch
but getting off the tree they have no chance.

Dangers lurk around every twig.
Caterpillar watch out your getting too big.

Soon the caterpillar eats every leaf off the tree
only caterpillars left with no where to flee.

Then the miracle the metamorphoses begins. Every caterpillar starts it's sleep from the cocoon a new life will leap.

A butterfly bursts forth.
Floating so colorful and free
it's wings of gold send the caterpillar from the tree.

Butterfly fly free, kiss the flowers, no longer bound by the tree.
If you have spiritual eyes you can see.
The caterpillar and butterfly are like you and me.
