*The Final Battle. Love Conquers All.* WHAAAA!!! The final installment of Sailor Moon CH is here. But don't worry: I've got two more cool projects in the works... Here we go, here we go, here we go... Wind ran its icy fingers through leafless trees, blowing powder in the face of one young woman. Her name was Cansey Ulpix. For years, she had been living free in the forests near Tokyo, hiding from a force more powerful than her. Now, Cansey was running through the wilderness that was her home, running not from someone, but from something. Cansey ran because it helped her get away. It helped her get away from all her cares, all her fears. It let her ponder over what would happen next in her life. A few months ago, she and her friends, the Sailor Scouts, defeated Flare and his minions in the future. Ever since then, new memories had surfaced in her mind. As Cansey ran, she worked these memories over in her mind, forming a story. The Story Begins... Once, there was a remote forest planet in orbit around the busy center of life, Mars. This planet was wild, and the civilized reigons of the Solar System had no knowledge of human life there. But, indeed, there was life on that emerald sphere. A complex system of warring tribes lived on the planet, well hidden from the outside. They shared the knowledge of their existence with the moon Denimos. Each season, new tribes would fight new battles for land and riches. Among these tribes was the smallest, Xantos. The people of this tribe did not like to fight, except for an extremist faction that lived in the most remote areas of the Xantos territory. So did one small girl. She was a princess, borne of Xantos royalty, warrior blood running through her veins. One night, at the dawn of the spring Seasonal Wars, she ran to the extremist faction, and soon became a warrior within its ranks. One day, a strange firey rock crashed through the skies, landing on the foothills near an Xantos camp. This was no ordinary rock, however. It held an important man. This man was the Denimos prince, Lord Flare. Over time, as the Xantos empire grew under the power of the female warrior's armies, he fell in love with that warrior. Flare felt the growing darkness pending the release of Queen Metallica, and, on the last free night of his life, gave the warrior a crystal vial filled with water from a sacred channel of Phobos. The female warrior was Cansey Ulpix. That was all Cansey could remember as she ran through the snow. *** Flare was angry. Very angry. His attacks on the future and against the Sailor Scouts had failed. His ranks had been ravaged by the enemy. Soon he would have a plan, yes, soon... "Next advisor!" barked Flare. A frail old man stepped into his throne room. "Lord, it is as simple as this- invade the present! There will only be one group of Sailor Scouts, the weaker group. This is all you need to do, Lord," said the advisor humbly. Flare considered for a moment. "My ranks have been destroyed by the infernal Sailor Scouts..." Another voice piped up from behind the two. "Master... premit me to create sufficent warriors." Flare turned. "No! This time it is I who will fight the Sailor Scouts. I will finish this nonsense!" The two men bowed and walked out of the throne room. *** After hiking through the mountains for several hours, Cansey arrived at the spot she had been heading for. A small pit lay in an outcropping of rocks. Liquid flame, lava, bubbled in this pit. An anvil stood on one large boulder, a hammer resting on it. Cansey stepped up to this anvil. She picked up the hammer and whispered words in an unknown tounge to it. The hammer glowed. The lava bubbled. Cansey then stepped to the edge of the pit. Rolling up her sleeve, she squatted by the lava. She plunged her hand in. Lava was Cansey's element. It dared not harm her, so she could touch it unfazed. Cansey felt the hot stuff running through her fingers. She felt as far down the pit as she could, and brought her hands abruptly up. Molten rock splashed in her palms. Cansey set the stuff on the anvil, then dunked her hands into a nearby bucket of water. Then she lifted the mallet. The mallet came down. Again and again Cansey pounded, folding the rock over itself, sharpening it, bending it. The hunk of lava became a molten blade. Cansey passed her hands over it. Speaking in the same unknown tounge she had said to the hammer, she set her hands upon the blade. It glowed black, and a symbol of a flame was imprinted on it. Cansey shoved the lava into the bucket of water, cooling it off. After an hour, she took the blade out and fitted it into a hilt. This would be her new weapon for the coming battle. An obisidian sword to end evil, blessed by the Chosen One of the Phobos Line, Dark Flare. Suddenly, something made her turn toward the horizion. A speck of darkness glowed over Tokyo. Sheathing the blade, Cansey threw her hands to the sky, calling the Dark Armor of Phobos to her hands. She placed it upon herself and became Dark Flare. It was time to fight. *** Cansey formed up with the Sailor Scouts as they ran quickly through the city streets toward the dark source of energy. Sailor Jupiter noticed Dark Flare's sheathed sword. "Hey, where'd you get that?" "I made it," said Dark Flare cooly. "Stop!" ordered Sailor Mars. "It's here." A cloaked figure stood atop a building, black cape sliding off his shoulders. Dark Flare winced. "Him..." she said. A loud, booming voice shot out across the city. "Ahh... Sailor Scouts, Tuxedo Mask, Dark Flare, the time has come. I, Flare, Price of Evil, will destroy you all!" said the Dark Figure. "Yeah ri-" Sailor Moon was cut short by Dark Flare. "No." "Huh?" "This is my fight, Sailor Moon. Mine alone. Stay back," said Dark Flare. She stepped forward. "Fight me, Flare. Do what you must, but come back to us." "Very well, Dark Flare. I will fight you," said Flare, snickering. He jumped from his vantage point, blade in hand. Dark energy shot off of it, a visible cloud of evil. Dark Flare looked at the sword. "Flare, the only thing that will burn away darkness..." "Is light!" With that Dark Flare drew her sword. The obsidian flashed in the moonlight, and twinkled with a blue sheen. Flames erupted up from the hilt, surrounding the blade and its user with a bright light. "Behold, the true weapon of Phobos Knight! Defender of Xantos, lover of Lord Flare!" A shimmer of understanding passed through Flare's eyes, but he shook it off. With a roar, he charged Dark Flare. The battle went back and forth, with Dark Flare parrying and losing ground, until Flare launched a truly victious assault upon Dark Flare. Her guard failed, letting Flare slice his blade deep within her belt, cutting her side. A small crash came from within one of Dark Flare's pouches as she fell. Flare turned to look at the source of the sound, and then gasped in horror. There lay the remains of a small crystal vial filled with water. The water splattered onto concrete, forming a flame. The Seal of Phobos. Flare fell to his knees, at last overpowering the darkness within him. "Phobos Knight! Phobos Knight! God... what have I done?" said Flare, a single tear flowing down his cheek. "If only... I would... have told you..." He embraced Dark Flare. Suddenly, the Armor of Phobos cracked, and then shattered into thousands of pieces. Cansey slowly gazed up at Flare. "You came back... I knew you would. My burden... broken... Flare..." whispered Cansey. "There's still some water in the vial..." Flare turned to see a large shard of the crystal vial still containing some water. He picked it up and dumped it on Cansey's wound. The wound healed at contact from the sacred water. Behind the two, the Sailor Scouts cheered. It was over, it was finally over. *** The next night, Cansey sat atop the rocky outcropping where she had forged her blade, the wind whipping her hair. She sighed, remembering the battle before, remembering her powers were gone. The sword was useless, she couldn't fight with it. She couldn't fight. Period. Soon she would have enough money to buy an apartment and get a job, but that was it. Nothing. "Hello," came a voice from behind her. Cansey turned. "Flare?" Flare grinned. "Yeah." He was wearing a business suit, jacket slung across his shoulder. Flare came and sat beside her, looking at the starlight. "My powers are gone, too. I guess I'm normal now, huh?" he turned to Cansey. "Hey, Flare?" "Yeah?" "Hold me." "Sure." Flare took Cansey into his arms. Cansey looked up at him, seeing a perfect crescent moon out of the corner of her eye. Her friends were on their own now. She couldn't help them anymore. But despite this, Cansey knew that no matter what, no matter where her friends went, what they did, they would always be together. They would always be able to conquer the obstacles ahead with each other. No matter what... Everything... They looked at each other. Would... Flare moved closer. Be... Cansey moved closer. Okay. They kissed. Two stars twinkled in the night. THE END ******************************************************************************************* WHAAAA!!! THAT'S THE END OF SAILOR MOON CH!
