TRAVIS’ ACCIDENT!

You might’ve missed it if you weren’t watching real closely, but in the last couple of YR episodes last season, Travis’ character, Ike McSwain, was walking with a limp! That’s because in real life, Travis had a horseback riding accident- he fell and landed on his right leg. Although it was incredibly painful for him to walk, brave Travis stuck it out for the rest of the season. (Travis is “exhibit A” for the saying “the show must go on!”) When he got back home to L.A., he underwent surgery on his knee. He just recently got off crutches, and in the first month or so of this season’s taping, he won’t be able to do any riding- aside from that, Mr. Fine’s doing just fine!

“BOYS WILL BE BOYS!”

His body may have taken a bit of a beating this year, but during his free time both on and off the set, Travis said he loved being in the great Arizona outdoors. “It’s really like a giant playground!” gorgeous Travis told 16. “We’d get on our horses and go play chase, or just go riding out in the middle of a bunch of cows. We also had this great game where one of us would run and the rest of us would try to lasso him by his feet, and trip him while he ran! Boys will be boys, ya know, always lookin’ for fun!” This of course, was before his accident! There won’t be much lassoin’ for a while, ‘till Travis is all healed. He says he’ll spend his time reading or writing (Travis is an avid writer, who’s even working on his own YR episode) while the other guys keep on horsin’ around!

“YOU ARE” TALKIN’ TO YVONNE SUHOR!

Although Lou McCloud, the character that Yvonne Suhor plays on TYR is in disguise as a young boy on the show, 25-year-old Yvonne loves being female- even though it sometimes gets a little lonely working in an almost all-male cast! “I sometimes get on male overload, and think, I wish one of my sisters were here right now, (she has six, as well as four brothers) I’d sure like to talk about shopping!” But Yvonne told 16 she loves working on TYR. “I used to think women were competitive,” she laughed, “until I saw all these guys get together and start lassoing each other’s feet!”

TIME OUT

During time off from The Young Riders this past summer, Yvonne, who’s originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, spent time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, working on a TV-movie called Dillinger. Back home in L.A., she spent time with her boyfriend, (something she doesn’t get to do as often as she’d like when she’s in Arizona!). “Mostly we just relaxed, sitting at home watching Jeopardy, or out on the porch talking!”
