Jessica author of: Lingering Doubts, Blurred Images, Separate Lives, Thicker Than Water, Bittersweet Revenge...and a few others. :)
Hmm...where do I even begin? All right, you can call me Jessica, Jess, J, Princess (yeah right), just don't call me Jessie, it makes me feel like I'm three years old again. Anyway, I was born on June 29th (hint, hint...I accept personal checks, credit cards, cash, and gift certificates. ;-P) in Pensacola Fl, which is where I live right now. However, I will be moving back to Santa Barbara, Ca in June. I'm a student, don't ask me what I'm majoring in because I don't know. I don't even know what I want to be when I 'grow up'. I think maybe I'll just run away and join the Peace Corps to make life interesting. Since I don't have a trust fund, or any kind of funds for that matter, I have to work as a cashier at a local store to pay the bills.
Moving on to the interesting stuff...To put it simply, when you grow up poor, you have to be creative and have a good imagination. My older brother and I were always making up games and acting out skits to pass the time since we were latch key kids and were not allowed outside until my mother came home from work. Anyway, I remember when The Young Riders first came out, my brother, his friends and I would pretend we were Pony express riders. Our bikes were transformed into horses and we even went so far as to practice tossing a back -pack with empty envelopes back and forth to each other. All these little adventures came in handy years later when I began reading fan fiction and thought "hey, I could do this!"
I've always excelled in English and writing, so it wasn't a major leap to fiction. I still have a pretty big imagination so coming up with plots isn't too difficult. The problem I have is letting those stories see the light of day. I've probably deleted about five complete stories because I wasn't satisfied with them. However, a few of them have managed to survive, although at the moment I can't recall their names...pretty sad I know but I'm not big on titles.
Needless to say there are a lot of people to thank, but I'm afraid I'd leave someone out, so I won't go into specific names. But Muchas gracias to anyone who has sent feedback, and to all the other writers out there who continue to encourage and inspire me!
