from WOMAN HATING by Andrea Dworkin...NY: E.P. Dutton & Co. 1974
What you're about to view is a sketch of a female body. Dworkin, a feminist (although NOT a man-hater or baiter), trenchantly critiques what women do TO themselves (and presumably FOR men). In this sketch, Dworkin lists 23 different parts of the female body...to which an array of 50 "treatments" are applied in order to be beautiful. The synergistic reality from all this "getting ready" is that "beauty hurts."
I highly recommend Andrea Dworkin's books, especially WOMAN HATING. To read a critical overview of this book, by Barbara K. Kessel, go HERE.
Dworkin wrote bluntly and in a language without unnecessary homage to "respectable" readers. This is evident in one name she applies to a certain part of the female anatomy...so beware and be warned!!!
