1960 News Report on Black Like Me

From "Time Magazine"...March 28, 1960



This is the original article about Griffin's activity...published in Time, March 28, 1960. I retreived it off microfilm, so the quality isn't perfect, but it is readable. The article also contained two pictures of Griffin (which didn't come out so good on microfilm copying). One showed him as a black man (designated by Time as "colored"). The other was Griffin as "white," as Time put it. Underneath both pictures was the caption "New doubts about his own race." This was the first major and national news reporting on Griffin's experiment/participant observation.
