This is a table of the types of societies which sociologists and anthropologist studey...distinquished by a variety of measures. It represents an historical progression on the MACRO level and provides insights in terms of combinations which exist today. A very useful table...with the first measure ("subsistence strategy"...i.e. economic arrangements...how did they survive, how did they arrange their material existence in order to survive) being the key to understanding the changes in the other measures.
