Wolf Hollow is a small farm in the mountains between Bakersfield and Santa Clarita in the Southern California area. Up in the back of a beautiful little canyon in the place known as Lockwood Valley is a small Swiss chalet-type cabin on about 1.6 acres. Half the land is wooded in pinon pines and the other half is the animal pasture. A stream runs nearby that originates from a spring and this is where we get our water. It snows some(never too much) in the winter, it doesn't usually get above 90 in the summer. We are protected from wind most of the time by the canyon walls and only get nice breezes when everywhere else it is blowing hard.
In this idyllic setting we raise livestock of various types, grow much of our own food in the summer(vegies and fruits, not enough room for grains, unfortunately), and enjoy the peace and tranquility of a home a mile off a paved road in a valley that is sparsely populated by humans.
We will be taking pictures like the mad photographer in the next few weeks and hope you will return here frequently to see all the exciting new additions to this page. That is assuming, of course, that we can figure out how to upload the photographs onto the site :)
