Logain, Saidir, and Saidin
by Dut

Alright guys, this one scares even me with its implications, and will Never Never happen as long as Jordan as an ounce of sanity left in him, but it'd be a LOT of fun, and a quick way to end the series. However, it is theoretically possible.

I guess I'll just throw it out there, and then justify it: Rand gains the ability to channel both saidin and saidir, takes both of the 'crystal sphere figurines', and cleanses saidin with saidir, then kicks the Dark One's butt...

Where this crap could possibly be based: Mainly in Nynaeve's 'Healing' of Logain and its implications. Obviously Rand can 'see' the connection between a man and saidin (tEotW:Fighting Ishy:p???). He can also 'see' the male Forsaken's connection to the DO in much the same way (Fighting Ishy & tSR:Fighting Asmo:p???), implying that the two connections have things in common (can only see those on members of the same sex). We know from Nynaeve's little experiments in triple-Power-bypass that there is some sort of "hole" (envision a wall socket) that she just plugged them back into. The DO's connection provided the 'ground wire' to funnel off the taint from the connection to the Forsaken (Asmo admits it). Both these seem to suggest the following properties of one's connection to the Source:

Is Logain channeling saidir or saidin now?? As soon as he's reconnected, he's sheilded, and we hear nothing else about it. Min, however, seems to think he's destined for glory, which isn't going to happen while he rots away in madness. So when N plugged him back in (without knowing how) she did so the same way that she did with Siuan and Leane, which we know for a fact hooked them to saidir... It's a series of small logical hops from there, but I've got to run to class now, so I can't elaborate now.

(If I hadn't been talking to myself since the first Chapter, and squelching voices in my head to a "fly's buzzing" for so long, I might think I'm starting to go mad! Not yet though... no, not for a while yet, right?)
