Flickering in the Dark©

As a candle lies shining in the dark
In a closet, leaving a dim mark
While in the dark forced to compromise
Slowly fading, death it defies

The candle looks into dark’s face
But isn’t able to find a trace
No feeling’s and no care at all
Nothing feeling wall to wall

The candle with it’s shining lone light
Pierces the black dark void of the night
Fuel burning from within
Slowly melting the candle thin

The cold of the dark it can’t ignore
Can’t help but wonder how much more
Shining it’s light for many a times
But the darker it gets, the brighter it shines
