A boy sits on a hill alone
Filled with a strife not shown
Empty with a yearning fully known
Perplexed he remains on a stone
A cloud be around his head
Not sure what is to be said
Unknown where this mystery is led
Not sure where he is to tread
Clouded from head to heel
Not sure what he is to feel
And so he remains on the hill
Sitting, staring, perfectly still
A girl he doth know
His feelings upon which he does bestow
But he tries not to let them show
And just let’s his emotions go
For the girl doesn’t constantly return
His affections for which he does burn
For the girl that he does yearn
Rocky waves upon the stern
He isn’t sure if she feels the same
To her it might just be a game
Oh, yes, truly what a shame
A single picture for a waiting frame
The mystery is so puzzling and unknown
His feelings aren’t completely shown
He shows affection than does postpone
Her feelings the boy does not clearly condone
How does he feel about me?
The girl can only ponder under her tree
For the future she can not see
And from rejection, she instinctively will flee
Afraid to be hurt
To be cast away into the dirt
Trying to be a flirt
But must constantly stay alert
She yearns to be at his side
Showing feelings undenied
The desire to be held, she wants not to hide
To no longer keep this feelings inside
But what if she is put to shame
She isn’t sure if he feels the same
To him it could all be a game
A missing picture makes for a useless frame
Disheartened the boy gets off the rock
Down the hill he begins to walk
On the other side, the girl sets off like a hawk
Each sad because they’re too afraid to talk
Each puzzled as to what to do
But fearing any thing new
Because of their fear, they stay blue
Each wondering if the other feels this unrequited love, too.
