Caprock High School is having First Annual Girls Longhorn Wrestling Tournament. It will be on January 8, 2000, in Amarillo, Texas.

9th to 12th grades only.

2.  Report from Kent Bailo:

We expect 350 to 400 girl wrestlers at Nationals this year. The tournament is March 27 & 28, Saturday and Sunday at Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, Michigan.

I am having five others tournaments that I would be glad if you would post on your web site schedule. The 1st Annual Colonial States Championships will be Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Brookline High School in Brookline, Massachusetts. Any girl in 7th thru 12th grade is eligible to compete. Folksltyle rules, blocked weights, $20.00 entry fee prior to March 2, $25.00 at weigh-in.

Next, Ohio State Championships for Girls on Saturday, March 20, 1999 at Mount Vernon High School. Two divisions: "Elementary School-Age" division includes girls K-6, the "High School-Age" division includes girls 7-12. Folkstyle rules, blocked weights, $20.00 entry fee is received by March 14, 1999. Medals to the TOP 6 in each weight of the 14 weight classes for HS Div. -- not yet determined for elem. div.

Michigan State Championships for Girls is on Sunday, March 21, 1999 at Lake Orion High School. One division only: "High School-Age", girls in grades 7-12. Entry fee $25.00 is received by March 14, 1999. $30.00 at weigh-in. Medals to TOP 8 placers in each of the 14 weight classes.

Saturday, April 3, 1999 will be the 1st Annual Michigan Collegiate Women's Championships at Olivet College, in Olivet, Michigan. 10 weight classes will be used (blocked weights). Medals to TOP 6 per weight class. Open only to 1) Michigan college students, 2) legal Michigan residents, 3) any girl who has ever graduated from a Michigan high school regardless of where she resides now, 4) any present Michigan HS Senior. Special considerations if requested prior to March 30, 1999. Entry fee $20.00 if received by March 29, 1999. $25.00 at weigh-in. Folkstyle rules. Only Michigan college students score team points, all others are "unattached".

Lastly, Sunday,April 11, first ever, "Michigan Girl's Team Dual State Championships" Still looking for a host site. Teams will be made upon of 14-20 girls and the duals will be contested in the following weight classes: 100-104-108-112-116-120-123-126-129-132-137-145-160-OVER 160. Entry fee $10.00 per girl. Payable at weigh-in. Limited to TEN teams, prefer six. Teams will be made up of regional clubs and girls grades 7-12 can compete. Thanks for any help.
