Immediately smitten after seeing sexy Nikki dance, wealthy Victor Newman took this diamond in the rough and became determined to polish her into a fine, multi-faceted lady. Unwittingly, Victor found himself falling in love with his young protégée. But believing his feelings were inappropriate, he encouraged Nikki to become involved with architect Kevin Bancroft. 1982

Kevin Bancroft

Nikki, head over heels in love with Victor, tried to get close to him romantically. Victor refused - he wanted to fix her up with younger men. He fixed Nikki up with Kevin Bancroft, a young architect who worked for him.

The only reason Nikki went along with it was to make Victor jealous. When Kevin found out Nikki used to be a stripper, he told her that they would never work out. Nikki felt like she had let Victor down, told him she was in love with him, and they made love.

Victor and Nikki finally admit their feelings.

The morning after, Nikki was making plans for the future but Victor told her he didn't want a marriage. Nikki told him that it doesn't matter to her, all she wants is to be with him. He made her a promise that if it changes - that she would tell him. Nikki told him that was an easy promise, she would always love him (she was right too).

In the meantime, Cash, who worked with Nikki at the Bayou, was murdered. Both she and Katherine, who was taken with Cash, grieved over his death.

Nikki found out she was pregnant, but she knew Victor had no interest in children. Victor insisted Kevin admit he was the father, and Kevin  proposed to Nikki, which devastated his fiancee Caroline. Alison, Kevin's mother, tried to buy Nikki off but Nikki refused her offer, and Kevin and Nikki got married. But Caroline hadn't given up hope yet.

Lorie Brooks

Soon after it, Nikki realized she was very unhappy and wanted out of the marriage. Katherine told her that the only way out is to admit that the baby was Victor's but that meant losing Victor for good, and Nikki couldn't bear the thought of losing him. She got even more upset when she learnt he was seeing Lorie Brooks. Victor told Nikki that there will never be anything between them (sure Victor, you say that now). Lorie in the mean time left Victor at the altar.

When Kevin was rushed to the hospital Nikki prayed he would recover and promised she would leave him and let him marry Caroline. When he recovered Nikki told him that the baby was Victor's. Kevin confronted Victor who told him that was not possible, because he had a vasectomy. (Victor and his vasectomies, doesn't the man ever learn?)

Nikki was livid with Victor for denying the baby was his, she pawned a bracelet he gave her and left GC. Victor in the mean time discovered that the baby could be his because the vasectomy didn't take and decided to find out the truth about the baby's paternity. Nikki came back to GC, she had a baby girl. Alison suggested the name Victoria - Kevin's grandmother was called that. Nikki had a blood test and the results showed that the child was Victor's, but Victor persuaded Kay to tell her the baby was Kevin's. Nikki was shocked and decided to move back in with Kevin, even though she didn't love him.
