Our Annie Casey Foundation Award!
WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY
- Who -- The Annie Casey Foundation has awarded the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) Community Partnership Team (CPT) $50,000 to make one time only investments in partnership projects that include both school and human service partners, specifically DHS divisions and program offices.
- What -- The Douglas County RAPP Coalition was awarded $10,000 from the Annie Casey Foundation for its Male Involvement Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. The program is a partnership with the Douglas County RAPP Coalition, Phoenix School and the Central Douglas County YMCA.
- When -- The project will begin in the spring of 2000.
- Where -- The program will be facilitated at the Central Douglas County YMCA.
- Why -- Our goal is effectively meet a community need of helping to reduce adolescent pregnancy rates. We feel that the best way of accomplishing this is through using community and school partnerships to help build the developmental assets of teens.

CRITERIA
The CPT will only look at proposals from community projects
that include both school, DHS, and other human service
partners who would like to expand the number and types
of parnters involved in their current project, site or organiztional
structure. All partners must be committed to the long-term
pursuit of integration of education and human services.
AMOUNT
Up to four grant, worth up to $20,000 each, will be awarded for 1999.
Total dollars available are $50,000. Funds may not be used to pay for
positions or salaries because this is not ongoing funding.
ELIGIBILITY
Preference will be given to current, active DHS service
integration projects; however, other DHS coalition-based
community projects are also eligible to apply. Examples
of these types of projects include but are not limited to:
school-based health centers, community child safety nets,
Youth Transition Programs, Reduce Adolescent Pregnancy Programs,
one-stop career centers, and other projects that include
DHS and educational partners.
