Aida is Disney's newest hit musical set in the ancient land of Egypt. Aida is about a love triangle existing between the Captain of the Egyptian Army, the Egyptian Princess he's betrothed to, and a nubian slave girl.

Aida opened on Broadway on March 25, 2000 in the Palace Theatre. The Disney Show performs Tuesday-Saturday at 8pm, Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 3pm.
Elton John and Tim Rice composed 22 new songs for the musical Aida. Including the songs Written in the Stars, Elaborate Lives, and The Gods Love Nubia.

The Original cast of Aida includes Heather Headley, Tony award winner for her performance in Aida, Adam Pascal, originated the role of Roger in Rent, and Sherie Rene Scott (Rent).

The cast of the first North American touring company has yet to be cast. Touring for the show will begin in April of 2001. So far, four locations have been set for the touring company, but some dates are to be determined. Coming soon, I will have more information on the Touring Company of Aida and locations of their performances.
