Statement from an Anonymous Physician:
Reader: I have been asked to read this by a physician in
New Jersey who chooses to remain anonymous:
“You may find the absence of physicians at this rally troublesome.
The reason there are so few is that the presence of a controversial
physician on national TV immediately sparks an investigation, thus
jeopardizing their careers.
We have learned the hard way that our best bet is to remain silent.
Unfortunately this results in our paralysis and inability to object
when one of our peers is being targeted unfairly.
I am confident that I speak for all physicians who have known
Joe Burrascano for many years. He is a deeply caring physician
who has been a pioneer in the field of Lyme Disease for 13 years.
He is exceptionally bright, thorough, and comprehensive in his
approach to patient care. I challenge all physicians in private
practice to compare their knowledge and review of the literature
to that of Joe Burrascano. He is not only exceptionally well
acquainted with all perspectives of research in the field of Lyme
disease, but has far more knowledge and experience in the use
of Antibiotics than many Infectious Diseases specialists.
He was the first physician in this field to strongly advocate a
comprehensive approach to the treatment of Chronic Lyme
Disease. He prescribed Diet, Nutritional Therapy, and Exercise
to his patients years before it became generally “Fashionable”.
He has been in constant touch with physicians all over the world
searching for new ideas and approaches to this illness.
The current attack being forged against him is unwarranted and
unearned. The acrimony is based upon a political and financial
agenda which has nothing to do with this man’s ethics or
excellence as a physician.
Dr. Joseph Burrascano is one of the most brilliant, caring and
grounded physicians and human beings I have ever had the privilege
to know. It will be a tragedy to allow a political motive to
destroy his life and career.
