I am the single father of two lovely girls. Jamie, who is still with me
and Nikki, who is out in the "real" world now. I am very proud of both my girls.
You go into parenting without a clue and it's nice to know you have done well. I must admit that I can't take all
the credit, their mother shaped their young lives and was the major influence while I worked. Recently retired,
I took on the finishing part and boy do they make me look good. Thank you, girls. Oh yeah, the cat, can't forget about the cat.
Miles is his name, part Manx part gateway computer box (look at the pic).
He is my buddy, showed up on the doorstep on my birthday, kinda neat, huh. After canvassing the neighborhood and no one
made claim to him (maybe they knew something we didn't) we gave him a home, or let him have ours I should say. He lets us live here too.
Gosh, ten years ago I never thought I would own a computer. Now, I can't imagine life without one. When the girl's mom
started working she was using "puters" and decided that we needed one. Well, I soon took possession. Since retirement it has
become a major hobby and a real learning experience, to say the least. Online communication is the greatest. I have made some great
friends that I would never have met otherwise. I do regret the distance of the friendships. Having coffee with these friends would be so nice.
In fact, this page would have never come about without the encouragement of a special friend. Thank you, Mary. Another hobby that I enjoy is, white water rafting. I don't get to go as much as I would like now a days but try to make at least one trip a year. It's usually on the local river. I hope to get back to the Klamath River soon though. I spent my boyhood next to a creek that was a half mile up stream from it's confluence with the Rogue River. Exploring on this creek and it's flow into the river was the greatest. I guess I still have that adventure in me, I don't think it will diminish with time either. |
