Remember 9-11! | ![]() |
"Let's roll." |
Not just a tragedy, but an act of war...
"We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts, and those that harbor them." President Bush Press Conference Sept 12th
- "Let's roll." are the final known words of Todd Beamer, passenger & one of the many hero's on United Airlines Flight 93 -
These words preceded the action that was to end all their lives had begun. The frightened but united passengers and crew had analyzed the situation and knew that, if they did nothing, the plane would most likely be aimed into a symbolic target, such as the White House, with dreadful consequences and a horrendous loss of life. They knew they were all about to die so better, they thought, to bring the plane down in open country than provide the terrorists with another coup.
We stand 100 percent behind the President and his vow that terrorism must be stopped...

Dear Friends,
As a result of the tragic events of September 11, my wife and I extend our hands and hearts across the miles. The American
people possibly face the toughest challenge since World War II as we deal with the after-affects of the
attacks. We are heartened to know that our profound sadness permeates beyond our own borders.
Together with you, we mourn that there are those who choose violence even while we actively
choose tolerance and understanding as a way to live in our world.
The events of September 11th have affected all of us in a very personal way. We ask your prayers for
our friends who have been so directly affected and ask you to join us in
fulfilling the request made by President Bush's State of the Union address:
'For too long our culture has said, "If it feels good, do it." Now America is embracing a new ethic and a new creed: "Let's roll." In the sacrifice of soldiers, the fierce brotherhood of firefighters and the bravery and generosity of ordinary citizens, we have glimpsed what a new culture of responsibility could look like. We want to be a nation that serves goals larger than self. We have been offered a unique opportunity and we must not let this moment pass.
My call tonight is for every American to commit at least two years — 4,000 hours over the rest of your lifetime — to the service of your neighbors and your nation.
Many are already serving, and I thank you. If you aren't sure how to help, I've got a good place to start. To sustain and extend the best that has emerged in America, I invite you to join the new USA Freedom Corps. The Freedom Corps will focus on three areas of need: responding in case of crisis at home, rebuilding our communities and extending American compassion throughout the world.'
While we know that absolutely all of us have felt the repercussions of this tragedy, we also have the utmost confidence that the spirit
and determination of America will make us stronger as a nation. We ask you to band with us in keeping America strong and to lend your hand in any way you can during
this most difficult time in our world's history.
With compassion,
Andrew and Polly Matthias
