The Basic Care For Gerbils

What to look for when you are buying a Gerbil:
- Eyes: Clear and Bright (no crust in the corners) Note: Gerbils tears can be red this is normal!
- Ears: no bite marks or crust on the inside!
- Whole Body: Very alert and curious! no limping or or shivering
Housing (for two gerbils) (* not necessary)
- 10 gallon tank (or bigger)
- Aspen Bedding 2 inchs thick in cage, water bottle, food dish*, wheel*, house* to sleep and play in, TP tubs.
Feeding: treats, Fruit, and Food!!!
- When to feed: I feed my gerbils once in the morning!!
- How Much to feed: I feed my gerbils 1 table spoon per day!!
- What to feed: I feed store bought Gerbils/Hamster food! With as little sun flower seeds as posible!
- TREATS: Gerbils love treats so here are some you can give your gerbils once or twice a week!! Plane Pop Corn (no salt or butter) Toast: with a little bit of Peanut Butter or plane! (Note: gerbils love Whole Grain bread! Make sure it has cooled down before you give it to them) Nuts: gerbils love nuts of any kind as long as they are not salted!!!
- Fruit: I fed my gerbils fruit 2 to 3 times each week! Here is a list of some fruit gerbils love! Apples, Bananas, Pears,Grapes,Any kind of berrys (Black Blue ect...)Plums,Peachs, Cherrys.
