Final Grades for the 2002 Season Position | Grade |
Quarterbacks : Due to the horrible offensive line the QB's were dropping like flies. Bulger showed promise, Warner was killed, Martin and Covington should be packing their bags. | D- |
Runningbacks: With Marshall hurt off and on during the season and the inability of Gordon or Candidate to hang onto the ball led to a sluggish running game and a long season for the fans. | D |
Receivers: They were hot and cold all season long, dropping far too many balls. It was amazing that Holt was able to obtain yet another 1,000 yard season during a season where QB's were dropping like flies behind a horrible offensive line. | C+ |
Offensive Line: No Comment! | F |
Defensive: This was a defense that was ranked 3rd last year. Please tell me what happened? They were far too inconsistent, especially after A. Williams went down. | D |
Special Teams: Showed a glimmer of improvement only once Bobby Aprils duties were limited, but this was far too little, too late. | D- |
The Team as a Whole: They never seemed to show enough heart or determination to recover from the SB loss and the 0-5 start. | D- |
Coaching: This was by far Martz's worst year yet. He proved by leaps and bounds that he can not handle more than just coaching on the field. His inability to see trouble on the horizon, protect key players and poor play calling was far too evident in the Rams 7-9 record | F |
