I try to show what's really me,I don't hide behind a mask,
All anyone has to do to get past the shell,
Is just walk up and ask.
What they see is what they get,
A false facade never pays,
From experience I know this too well,
I finally cast it away.
I find it easier to show what's there,Than to try and explain in the end,
Because when I've mixed what's false and what's true,
I've lost way too many a friend.
I want someone to love me for who I am,
Not for who I'm not,
If someone loves you for what's not real,
It just doesn't mean a whole lot.
