Laura Webber Baldwin, 38, free lance writer of children’s books, housewife. Married Scott Baldwin at the age of 18. Raped by Luke Spencer a year later, Laura was supported by her husband through the ordeal which eventually ended with Luke being acquitted on rape charges but subsequently being sent to prison on other charges six months later. Laura has three children, Nicholas Baldwin 18, Tanner Baldwin 16, and McKenzie Baldwin, 11.

Scott Baldwin, 43, lawyer, founding partner of Baldwin/Davis Attorneys At Law. Happily married to wife Laura, Scott adores all three of his children although he openly acknowledges that he sometimes favors his daughter McKenzie. Scott’s relationship with older son Nick has been strained at times through Nick’s tumultuous adolescence.

Nick Baldwin, senior at PCH, wants to be a writer but is considering pre-law to please his father and grandfather. Despite some signs of rebelliousness (an earring, a tattoo, and an aversion to doing anything that could be remotely construed as yuppie), Nick honestly loves both his parents and is protective of his younger siblings. However, when his world is blown apart by the revelation that his real father is Luke Spencer and that he is the product of Luke’s rape of his mother, Nick’s behavior and attitude tailspin as his world begins to crumble.

Tanner Baldwin is well liked, smart, sensitive, and a star on the PCH basketball team. Tanner is unsure of what he wants to be when he grows up but is working part time as an assistant for PC Herald investigative reporter V. Ardonowski

McKenzie Baldwin, 11, crazy about horses but discovering boys. McKenzie’s best friend is Maxie Jones and she has a secret crush on Lucas Scorpio (13), the son of Police Commissioner Robert Scorpio. McKenzie has definitely inherited her father’s impulsive and sometimes wild nature.

Luke Spencer: Recently released from prison after serving almost twenty years for murdering his sister’s abusive boyfriend, Luke’s determination to get to know his son causes heartache for almost every member of the Baldwin family. Luke’s feelings about the rape are mixed and he has yet to realize the damage he really did to Laura that night. Luke and his sister Bobbie are holding several secrets of their own.

Emily Quartermaine. Also 16, Emily is the adopted daughter of Alan and Monica Quartermaine. Emily is also Tanner’s girlfriend who can’t figure out why she feels drawn to Tanner’s older brother Nick. Emily’s home life is pretty miserable. Her parents aren’t always faithful and as she has gotten older their affairs are less discrete. Older brother AJ escaped home by marrying his girlfriend Keisha and moving to Boston to attend Harvard law school. Jason is in his third year of college at PCU and currently not dating anyone. Her cousin Ned is married to his wife Lois and living in Brooklyn.

Alexis Davis- Scott’s new partner, she is a cutthroat in the courtroom but struggling to build a private life outside of her practice. Alexis comes to Port Charles with secrets that will be revealed as things unfold.

The Scorpios: Robert Scorpio, Police Commissioner, Anna Devane Scorpio, Private Investigator in a partnership with her brother-in-law Mac, Robin Scorpio, 19, student (not HIV positive in this story), and Mac Scorpio. Mac is staying with Robert and Anna while he rebuilds his life following the death of his wife Felicia. Robert is raising Felicia’s daughter Maxie. (I decided to leave Georgie out.)

The Spencers: Bobbie Spencer, owns and runs Kelly’s, quit nursing several years ago, currently uninvolved, Bobbie has one child, Caroline Spencer, 19, who has inherited all of the wild Spencer traits. In addition to her daughter, Bobbie adopted her distant cousin’s child, Sly, after his parents were killed. Sly is also 18 and struggling with his identity.

Elizabeth Webber (16)- Laura’s young cousin who has come to stay with the Baldwin’s. Think Lizzie from Summer of Hell.

Stone Cates (20)- In this version, Stone was never taken in by Sonny and thus grew up on the streets where he has hooked up with Caroline Spencer to create havoc that makes both of them the bane of the PCPD’s existence.

I’m sure there will be more as the story progresses, but these are the basics. This story is going to be a very complicated, dark, sometimes tortured, but I hope overall romantic story about love being stronger than abuse, hope chasing away doubt, and faith dispelling the dark. I’m not sure how regular my postings will be, so I hope you stick with me and stick with it.
