The band was formed by Dougie Schmuck and Jay Henriksen in late 1996. It wasn't long before fellow class mates Monk (Chris Depuy) and (Ryan) Shanahan joined the band. In the summer of 1999, Monk left the group with short notice but Tony came to save the day and quickly joined. Over the years they were together, they shared the stage with punk greats like The Business, The Dropkick Murphy's, Blanks 77, and many more. The only release they put out was a 7" called Broken Bottles before they ultimately dispanded in late 1999 after Dougie Schmuck quit the group. Their last show was October 1st, 1999 with the Weakling & Deadbeathearts. So where are they now? Dougie left the group to pursue his new band the Speds . Jay is the new bass player for Statch & the Rapes. Tony is the drummer for Antiworld, and has also joined The Shift (formely the Cretins). Shanahan and Monk still live in the Portland area but are currently in no other bands.
The Havocs had a breif reunion at a Commies show on August 5th 2000. Shanahan, Jay, and Dougie were all there and since Tony already had his drums set up people attending the show urged them to play. The band played one song (Broken Bottles) after the Commies were done with their set.
Now, in 2002 they have reunited for good with a new line-up. Jay, Shanahan, Rich(Charely Brown), and Jake Cline. They have recorded a new song "That's rediculous" for an A.F. records comp.

Rich played his last show with the Havocs last night. It appears Colin Grigson the one and only "Joey Havoc" will take his place. Colin actually did play for the Havocs before. In 1998 he played drums for one prefomance. He also was the Havocs 2nd dancer in 1997 & 98 after Edwardo Acrebo moved back to Spain. The dancer position was very short lived.

Well, it's offical. The Havocs have reformed and are playing their first show back in December with the Speds. The new line up is, Shanahan-Vocals, Jay(L. Bate)Henriksen-Bass, Jake Stein-Guitar, Rich ?-drums. The new line-up has also recorded a new song intitled "Thats Ridiculous." No plans have been made to record an album with the original line-up.

So the rumours may be true...Shanahan and Jay are thinking of reforming the Havocs with Jake from the Commies on guitar and possibly their friend Christian on drums. Dougie, Tony, and Monk will not be involved in the reunion. However, Dougie, Tony, Jay, and Shanahan do intend to record an album before that happens.
