These are my ideas on Shoujo Kakumei Utena.
I believe the Revolution to be a time of revolt against the inhumanity of Utena. The Revolution in Utena is, in my belief, a revolution of the mind and soul. Mainly for Anthy, who appears as the power holder, it is the freedom of her mind and soul. When Anthy uncurls her hair, she has brought the Revolution. But, she will not do so, until her 'prince' frees her by fighting the duel known as 'Revolution'. After this duel, Anthy is released as her true self, revealing that the Revolution was almost a self-victory, but was also a freedom of Dios.
I believe that the Absolute Destiny Apocalypse isn't talking about the end of the world, but rather, the final destiny of a person's soul. Note in the song, "Birth records, baptismal records, records of death". This speaks of a person and their life. Their Absolute Destiny. I think that within this frightening song, there is a meaning of life that lives wihtin us all. We all have our own Absolute Destiny Apocalypse, and we unleash it at the end of their time, when their Destiny is shown. For Utena, this destiny is bringing the Revolution, and it comes as she almost dies, when Anthy stabs her through the back.
