Game 6 - 2006 Wiffleball World Series

Game 6 marked the first possible elimination game in the 2006 World Series, as the 301's needed just one more win to send the Tanks home. The Tanks, however, had other ideas.

In the first inning, the 301's threatened to blow the game open early, as Tanks starter Scott Williams walked the bases loaded with no outs. Eric Paslack struck out swinging, but David Lock followed with a fielder's choice that plated Casey Zimmerman for the game's first run. Jamison McAndie's fly out ended the inning, and Scott Williams escaped a dangerous situation with minimal damage.

The Tanks offense came up empty in the first inning, but also held the 301's scoreless in the top of the next inning. In the bottom of the second, the Tanks used a Scott Williams two-run homerun to take their first lead of the game.

The Tanks lead was brief, as Joe Kotsovos hit a two-run homerun in the next frame to give the advantage back to the 301's. The Tanks continued to make this a see-saw battle, however, as they grabbed the lead back in the next inning on another Scott Williams two-run homer.

In the fourth, the 301's tied the game up when Kotsovos walked with the bases loaded and two outs to push across a run. Williams got the next batter, Paslack, to strike out swinging to end the threat. In the bottom of the inning, the Tanks threatened to score by loading the bases with one out for their most dangerous hitter, Scott Williams. Williams hit a sharp grounder to third baseman Casey Zimmerman, who tagged the runner going home then turned and crossed out the runner heading to third for an inning-ending double play.

In the fifth, Williams retired the 301's in order, giving the Tanks the opportunity to win the game and extend the series, needing only one run for the victory. It didn't take them long, as Zach Roe drilled just the second pitch of the inning for a walk-off homerun. The clutch, game winning hit was Roe's second of the series, as his other walk-off homerun came over a week earlier in Game 2.
