The teams traded zeros in the first inning. In the second, the 301's drew first blood when Eric Paslack drove a pitch that sailed over the scoreboard in center field. The next batter, Joe Kotsovos, followed with another homerun, pushing the lead to two. The lead did not last long. In the bottom of the frame, Zach Roe's three-run homer gave the Tanks their first lead.
In the third, the 301's surged back, retaking the lead on a Kyle Stone three-run homer that came with two outs. Once again though, the Tanks answered back in the next half of the inning, this time using homeruns by Scott Williams and Josh Williams to gain a one run lead.
Kotsovos led off the fourth with a line drive to right field that just barely cleared the fence for a game tying homerun. The Tanks went down in order in the fourth, sending a tie game into the final inning. The 301's could not rally in the fifth, thus needing to hold the Tanks in order to send the game into extra innings.
In the bottom of the fifth, with two outs and a runner on base, Zach Roe came to the plate for the Tanks. Roe, who had homered earlier in the game, ended the contest with a two-run homer that bounced off the bleachers in left field, giving the Tanks the victory and bringing both teams even in the series at one win apiece.
