The

This time around Paul Walker's
character, Brian O'Conner, has left the police force and is keeping himself
busy racing other car enthusiasts. Nabbed by the cops while participating in an
illegal drag race, O'Conner is recruited to help bring down Miami-based drug
runner and all-around bad guy, Carter Verone (Cole Hauser). O'Conner brings in
his old buddy Roman Pearce (Tyrese) and together they get busy taking down the
bad guy and taking care of business.
Can "2 Fast 2 Furious"
capture the audience the way "The Fast and the Furious" did?
According to the director and the movie's stars, "2 Fast 2 Furious"
is bigger, better and even more of a thrill ride than the original. Here's what

How much of your own
driving stunts did you get to do?
John
Singleton really wanted us to do a lot of our own driving. Me
and Paul just kind of made it a point to piss off as many stunt drivers as
possible. [Singleton] wanted to make it as believable as possible and I think
he did it. All of the editing and cut-always and that kind of stuff can get a
little strenuous. I told him, "You can get somebody who's got a head about
my size, which is probably hard to find. I've got a nice little dome up
there." But I wanted to do a lot of my own driving; we definitely had to
make it believable.
What type of preparation
did you do to drive in this movie?
We
just had to do a week and a half of driving school. It wasn't to teach us how
to drive, it was to teach us how to drive and be filmed. You know what I mean?
We had to do certain stunts. John [Singleton] wanted us to be behind the wheel
as often as possible. We pissed off a lot of stunt drivers while doing this
movie, but that's just John. His credibility as a film director is to make it
as real as possible. We really wanted the fans who are
watching this movie and supporting it, to feel like they are behind the wheel
just like us.
Was there ever a point
where you felt scared?
It
got a little hectic but I wasn't willing to lose a leg for Universal. Love you,
but my momma likes me walking regular. I don't [want to be] left limping. We
did it as close as possible until we couldn't do it any more, and then that's
when we put [stunt drivers] in.
Did anyone crash?
I
crashed and Paul crashed but it wasn't anything devastating.
Did you get injured?
I
didn't get my injuries from a car crash, I got it from
actually socking the window out of a car. The glass or whatever on the window
just cut my knuckles up a little bit. But I'm a big boy, I got over it.
What's the fastest you've
ever driven?
The
fastest I've ever gone is probably about 155 and I was in my TL600. I was on a
racetrack, okay, not on the streets - for all the kids that are listening
(laughing).
