Now meet Gibbil (or Gibil, or Girra), the fire god. Not much is said about him in the myths, but he's a pretty important god. He's one of the luminous gods like Utu and Nanna-Suen who protect man against demons. He's one of the four great warrior gods. He's called the purifier for his ability to purify food and drink and get rid of disease. He's the one who brings burnt offerings to the gods.

He isn't in the original myth. He's here because as one of the gods of earth and as a warrior he would be here. He also helps the story along.
