Stephen & Elisabeth in England
Thursday, 9 December 2004
Sorry for the lack of updates
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: The fat blow-hard on the radio going on about yobs
Jeeze, the blog's been pretty dead. Elisabeth and I have been awfully busy and, frankly, talking about our jobs is kinda boring. I cannot stress the insanity of the questions & attitudes of some of my customers but everytime I try to comment on it, it gets turned into a rant and becomes one of those 'you had to be there' situations.

I don't start until 1.30 today but I'm getting to work 'till 9pm so this should be interesting. Aparently the evenings are very, very busy.

Elisabeth's big Christmas office party is tomorrow night & we'll bring the camera so that y'all can see us dressed up all fancy-like and lookin' purdy at the golf club.

I still can't get over how mild the weather is over here - not at all condusive to getting into the Christmas spirit. I'm also still amazed at how much people complain about how bitterly cold it it when the temperatures hovering around just under 10 degrees celsius. We still haven't turned on our heat.

Mild weather!! Are you rubbing it in?
Montreal weather for the past week has been snow followed by freezing rain. You remember what rain is like in december? When the steets are cloged with slush, then it starts to turn to ice and everything is supper slippy.

Grrrrr........

Honestly Sean, I'm starting to worry about you. What happened to your hardy Canadian-ness? If you're complaining about slush, what happens when the snow starts falling? How about all that heavy wet snow that sticks to everything? Of the light, fluffy snow that, when it get cold, squeaks when you walk on it? Or freezing rain? Or massive piles of super-saturated dog shit that appear in the spring? Slush? Complaining about that is like me complaining about the fog this morning that's waiting to be burnt off by the sun so that we can have a grey, damp day near 7-8 degrees. Today I choose not to wear a jacket - I'll just wear a sweat shirt.

here in toronto we had our first "snow fall". by this I mean we barely got 1cm and toronto practically shut down. it is quite pathetic really. I am looking forward to some real snow that actually lasts!

I went to see Montreal's Old Port just now, and wow! You're right...lots and lots of snow! I can hardly believe...snow, skating, COLD...such a distant reality. Sun was out today...had the window open...

Yup, heavy snow caused power outage. Very cold, had to wear 2 sweaters. Loss of power killed my computer. Fine day today.

I'm waiting for the moment in time where the snow causes the stairs up to ypur apartment to collapse and you & Joanna are forced to cannibalize your roommates in order to survive.

Actually..... The landlord painted the stairs. Unfortunatly the paint does not react well with water. Water seems to pool on top of the stairs and become very slippy, even more with slush. Its like walking down a ice rink. So you were half right.

He's probably aware of the ridiculously low rent you're paying and wants you to slip and fall and die so that he can jack rent up more then 8%.
